AROUND THE WEB:

— Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was profiled favorably by “60 Minutes” Sunday night, and that apparently did not sit well with one former member of Revis’ inner circle, who claimed in a Twitter rant that Revis is a drug-using phony.

John Geiger, Revis’ childhood friend from Pittsburgh who was the player’s business manager since Revis was drafted by the Jets in 2007, sent out a long and sometimes confusing series of tweets Sunday that he later deleted.

Wrote Geiger about “Team Revis,” the player’s support crew: When Revis was getting drunk every night and smoking where was the “team.”

Added Geiger: The team was me. I made sure he was cool. I made sure the drugs came in. I made sure he was cool.

Geiger then tweeted at the NFL to suggest that the league test Revis for marijuana.

Geiger told Complex.com that he had a falling out around the time Revis helped the Patriots reach Super Bowl XLIX, blaming Revis’ agents for the divide.

“I was at the Super Bowl. He won the Super Bowl, and I tried to get on the field after and I couldn’t. I didn’t talk to him for a week after that,” Geiger said.

The aspiring sneaker designer claimed Revis owed his fashion sense to him, tweeting at 60 Minutes: you wrote a bs story based on a guy [that] lived my life. That d-khead don’t look at art. That’s me. I dressed his ass.

Added Geiger: Revis is A [expletive] liar.

Geiger also implied a connection between Revis and commissioner Roger Goodell, writing: I have dm from Revis and the commissioner about hiring his uncle. Ppl fake.

On Monday, Geiger deleted the tweets and claimed he was hacked. He also tweeted that Revis severed ties with him despite some challenging family issues.

Wrote Geiger: Both of my parents had cancer. I was called up saying I was fired by Revis. Not a care in the world.

Added Geiger: I will get deleted. [Jets owner] Woody Johnson is paying to delete this.

— Lamar Odom reportedly was flown via medical helicopter from Las Vegas to a Los Angeles hospital Monday night to continue his treatment, six days after he was found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel and put on life support.

According to ESPN, the former Lakers star was accompanied by his estranged wife, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.

Odom reportedly began breathing on his own, without a tube, on Friday, and has been talking to family and friends. The Los Angeles Daily News reported that he started physical therapy and soon will attempt to walk.

“Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible,” JaNean Mercer, Odom’s maternal aunt and godmother, said in a statement Monday. “These past few days have been no different. … [He is] defying the odds in his toughest battle to date.”

Jim Harrick, who coached Odom at the University of Rhode Island, told CNN that Odom appears to have made enough progress to make those close to him feel more confident about his recovery.

“We’re more hopeful now,” Harrick said. “We’ve been on pins and needles for days.”

— Bucks forward John Henson got a surprise Monday when he went to a jewelry store in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, and it wasn’t a pleasant one. In fact, he called it “one of the most degrading and racially prejudice things I’ve ever experienced in life and wouldn’t wish this on anyone.”

Via an Instagram post, Henson explained that when he approached the store, the employees locked the door and told him to go away. The employees then went to the the back of the store and ignored Henson ringing the doorbell.

Two police cars then pulled up and watched him for a few minutes. Two officers eventually approached Henson and asked him about the dealer vehicle he was in (a courtesy care that is part of his endorsement deal with a Chevrolet dealer) “amongst other things that were just irrelevant to me being there just trying to shop at the store like a normal paying customer would do.”

Henson wrote that one of the officers went into the store and told the employees it was safe to come out — only after the officers ran his plates.

Henson concluded his post by suggesting people don’t “bring any business to this discriminatory place.”

After the story spread, the store owner released a statement Monday night indicating that employees were concerned because Henson’s car was similar to one involved in a suspicious incident four days earlier, and the store was on alert due to previous robberies.

Contacted by Milwaukee TV station Fox6, the Bucks issued a statement that read: “We’ve spoken with John about what happened. It’s very troubling to all of us. Nobody should be treated that way. We are trying to contact the store directly.”

ON THIS DAY TRIVIA (answer below): On Oct. 20, 1991, the Patriots beat the Vikings in overtime, 26-23, on a 42-yard field goal by which kicker?

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “That’s why Belichick’s the best, and it’s not close. I would argue that over half of the teams in the National Football League would have burned a timeout or lined up incorrectly. In fact, I think two-thirds of the NFL would burn a timeout or line up incorrectly. Whether people don’t like Belichick because of how he deals with the media or whatever the situation is, if you can’t respect that, then you’re not paying attention to football. He’s amazing at that.” — ESPN’s Tim Hasselbeck, during his Monday morning appearance with Dennis, Callahan & Minihane, on Bill Belichick‘s reaction to the Colts’ attempted fake punt in Sunday’s game

STAT OF THE DAY: 7 — Turnovers in Monday night’s game between the Eagles and Giants, as Philadelphia emerged with a 27-7 victory

‘NET RESULTS (mobile users, check the website to see the videos): Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar makes a nice running catch in Monday’s win over the Royals.

Zach Lewis, a sophomore quarterback at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, Washington, catches his own deflected pass and runs it in for a touchdown.

TRIVIA ANSWER: Jason Staurovsky

SOOTHING SOUNDS: Tom Petty was born on this day in 1950.
